Marketplace liquidity

Also called Liquidity, Sell-through rate

How reliably buyers find what they want and sellers make a sale, often measured as the share of listings that sell in a period.

How it's worked out

Listings that sold in the period ÷ live listings × 100, or searches that end in a transaction ÷ searches × 100

A marketplace works when both sides succeed often enough to come back. Too few sellers and buyers leave empty-handed; too few buyers and sellers stop listing.

Measure it in a narrow market first, one city or category, where it can actually be reached.

In practice

9,000 of 30,000 listings sold this month: 30% liquidity.

Common mistake

Measuring across the whole marketplace, where strong categories hide the empty ones.
