Similarity matrix

Also calledCo-occurrence matrix

A grid showing, for every pair of cards in a card sort, the percentage of participants who put them in the same group.

Each cell answers one question: how often did people think these two items belong together? High numbers mean strong agreement; low numbers mean people kept them apart.

Sorted well, the matrix shows blocks of items that cluster together, which are candidates for navigation sections. Items that relate weakly to everything are the hard cases to look at first.
