Experiment readout
Also calledTest readout, Data analysis
The write-up of what an experiment or analysis found, what it means, and what the team should do next.
A readout turns numbers into a decision. A good one states the hypothesis, the result with its uncertainty, what else moved, and a clear recommendation: ship, iterate or stop.
Designers who can read and write readouts have much more influence on roadmaps, because they can show the effect of their work in the language the business uses.
Common mistake
Reporting only the metric that moved the right way. An honest readout includes the guardrail metrics and the results that did not work.
