Product trio

Also calledProduct triad, Three-in-a-box

The product manager, designer and tech lead who share responsibility for what a team builds and why.

The product trio is a way of working where product, design and engineering decide together rather than handing work down a line. The product manager owns the business case, the designer owns the experience and the tech lead owns feasibility, and all three take part in discovery.

When the trio works, the designer is in the room when problems are framed. When it does not, design is briefed after the decisions are made and becomes a production function.
