Design and product work
Fidelity
Also calledLow fidelity, High fidelity, Lo-fi, Hi-fi
How closely a sketch or prototype resembles the finished product. Low fidelity is rough and quick; high fidelity looks and behaves like the real thing.
Low-fidelity work, such as sketches and grey boxes, is quick to make and invites honest feedback about the idea. High-fidelity work is slower to make and invites feedback about details.
Matching fidelity to the question saves time. If you are asking whether a concept makes sense, a polished prototype wastes effort and steers people towards commenting on colours.
